Jet liner races Porsche in Singapore's King of the Tarmac

(NECN/APTV) – A racing car was pitted against a jetliner at Singapore’s state’s airport on Saturday to determine the speed king of the tarmac. The Porsche race car won the race against the Boeing 747 aircraft, which was held on the tarmac of Singapore’s Changi airport. The organizer called the race the first of its kind ever held in Asia. Hundreds of invited spectators watched the race on the tarmac, whilst visitors watched on a big screen inside the airport terminal. The event kicked off a series of race activities to be held in Singapore this month. The popular Formula 1 night race is scheduled take place on the streets of Singapore later in September.
