Tsunami crashes into FBI building

(NECN: American Samoa) – The FBI has released video of the tsunami hitting the office building in American Samoa where the FBI office is located. The last 20 seconds of the clip show the impact of the wave hitting cars and carrying them across the parking lot. A magnitude 8.3 earthquake sparked a large wave in the South Pacific that devastated coastal villages in Samoa, American Samoa and northern Tonga at 6:48 a.m. local time on September 29th. The islands soon were engulfed by four tsunami waves 15 to 20 feet high that reached up to a mile inland. Apart from the 143 Samoan victims, 32 people were killed in American Samoa and nine in Tonga. At least six victims were still missing. Surveillance footage is FBI handout video.
