Tunnel bombed by Israeli aircraft in Gaza Strip

(NECN/APTV) – Israeli aircraft bombed a tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday that military officials claimed could be used by militants to infiltrate Israel. A military spokeswoman said the tunnel was being dug around a mile from Gaza’s border with Israel. She said the tunnel was dug by organizations that were not connected to Hamas but declined to give further information. Hamas’ militant wing, the Qassam Brigades, have traditionally led Palestinian fighting against Israel.
