Christmas Trees Are Harder to Come By This Season. Why?

Christmas trees are harder to come by this season. Demand is high and supply chain issues and shortages have rippled down to local farms, which is driving up prices, too. At Allandale Farm in Brookline, the first two weekends of December were by reservation only to keep crowds down. And they expect to sell out by this weekend — the earliest that’s ever happened. But the shortage of trees isn’t because of the COVID pandemic according to a distributor from Nova Scotia. He says from problems with climate to market conditions, that the supply is just really, really low. And he sees this problem lasting for years.
