Fitchburg Police Investigating Instagram Account Associated With City's High School

Fitchburg High School students told NBC10 Boston that they didn’t see much of what was posted on Instagram, but when they saw the account was called “FHS Slaves,” they saw enough. The principal sent an email to parents on Friday that said the school’s administration had been informed of a “disturbing” Instagram page, “which depicts Black or African-American students in a variety of pictures posted to the site.” The email went on to say that the site is not one wrong and divisive, but also potentially a hate crime and illegal. Police say they’re now investigating but would not comment any further.
