Boston Business Journal Report: Suffolk University President's Fast Departure

BBJ managing editor Craig Douglas talks about Suffolk University president's abrupt departure

There's been a shake up at Suffolk University in Boston.

Boston Business Journal reports university president James McCarthy is abruptly departing from the institution.

BBJ managing editor Craig Douglas said McCarthy's departure after two years is coming as a shock in the academic world.

"I think the writing was on the wall that Suffolk was having trouble turning the ship around. They'd had a lot of cost cutting, they'd still seen a lot of application declines, enrollment declines. Clearly the turnaround strategy wasn't working out as planned," he said.
