Changing of the guard at the MBTA; Grabauskas out

(NECN: John Moroney, Boston, Mass.) – The head of the MBTA has been under fire for weeks, and last night, he decided to resign. Daniel Grabauskas stepped down after a long meeting of the agency’s board. Grabauskas has been criticized in the wake of two accidents involving the T. By a 5-3 vote, the board agreed to pay him the $327,000 remaining on his contract, including salary, vacation and sick days. The transportation secretary says the MBTA will now focus more on customer service and safety.
