Buzzfeed recently released its annual list of the top bars in every state, according to data provided by the social app Foursquare.
So what are the most popular bars in the six New England states? Here's a look:
CONNECTICUT
J. Timothy's Taverne, 143 New Britain Ave., Plainville: According to Foursquare, the dirt wings are a must-try, and the beer selection is fantastic.
MAINE
Novare Res Bier Cafe, 4 Canal Plaza, Portland: This basement-style bar also has an outdoor beer garden. Come for the amazing beer selection, but sample the cheese, charcuterie and other small plates right in the middle of the Old Port District.
MASSACHUSETTS
Business
Meadhall, 4 Cambridge Center, Cambridge: It's been called one of the best craft beer bars in the country, with around 100 beers on tap.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
Strange Brew Tavern, 88 Market St., Manchester: Great beer deals and inexpensive appetizers make this bar a hit with the younger crowd.
RHODE ISLAND
Mews Tavern, 456 Main St., Wakefield: On Wednesday night Pint Night you get $3 beers and you even get to keep the pint glass. Also known for its huge beer selection, with nearly 70 on tap.
VERMONT
Three Penny Taproom, 108 Main St., Montpelier: Excuse us if we're starting to sound like a broken record, but Three Penny Taproom is known for its extensive beer selection, called the best in Vermont by some.
