Doctors ponder effective way to give flu shots

(NECN: Latoyia Edwards, Boston, Mass.) – The public is expected to receive not one, but two doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine this fall. Plus, the regular seasonal flu shot. But, health centers in New England forecast problems when giving out flu shots to large groups of unknown patients. H1N1 flu cases are expected to surge this fall. Doctors are scrambling to come up with an effective way to give the American public three flu shots this flu season. The federal government predicts the H1N1 vaccine will be available by mid-October. Local health centers worry about the logistics of administering the shots to people with no medical records on file in their building. This is not the first time the country has vaccinated millions against a hazardous virus. In the 1950s, millions of Americans lined up at public clinics to be vaccinated against Polio.
