Naked Man Chased Down by Pit Bull, Beaten with Brass Knuckles

He was apparently lured to a local hotel by a Backpage.com ad

Two people were arrested Sunday for allegedly luring a man to a Salem, New Hampshire, hotel, stripping him of his clothes and then badly beating him when he tried to escape.

Salem Police said they received a call around 2:20 a.m. Sunday reporting a fight at the Red Roof Inn. Upon arrival, police made contact with a male victim who was bleeding from the head, and two suspects who were trying to flee the scene.

Witnesses told police they saw a naked man being chased by another man and a pit bull. The naked man was tackled and then beaten with brass knuckles in the parking lot in front of the main office.

Police said they were able to determine that the victim had answered a Backpage.com ad, and when he entered the hotel room, he was confronted by a man and a woman. He was stripped down and held in the room. When the male suspect went to the victim's car to find more money, the then naked victim fought with the woman, who was blocking the door, and escaped into the parking lot, where he was run down and beaten.

Police were able to take both the male and female suspects into custody and recover the brass knuckles, which had been thrown into the woods.

Vincent Evelyn, 32, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, was charged with first degree assault, robbery with a deadly weapon, criminal restraint, felon in possession of a deadly weapon and destroying/hiding evidence. He was ordered held on $20,000 cash bail. Ryanne McCann, 27, of Rollinsford, New Hampshire, was charged with robbery, criminal restraint and simple assault. She was held on $15,000 cash bail.

The victim received numerous stitches for his head wound.

The pit bull was taken to the Salem kennel.
