3 year old from Worcester recovering after pit bull attack

(NECN) – A three-year-old boy is recovering from 100 stitches after he was mauled by a neighbor’s pit bull in Worcester, Massachusetts. The dog attacked Bartolo Colon as he entered a first floor hallway in his apartment building just before midnight Friday. The boy’s mother tells the Worcester Telegram her son is staying with his grandmother because he is too afraid to go home. There are no records of the pit bull having updated shots or a dog license. Animal control took custody of the dog. The dog’s owners say it had never threatened any of the children in the building before.
