9 cadets kicked out of CT Coast Guard Academy

(NECN/WTNH) – Nine cadets were kicked out of the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. Academy officials say they were dis-enrolled after an investigation concluded they used or possessed illegal drugs. All nine were freshmen, and all confessed. Most were on leave at the time, but one incident took place on campus. The group is banned from ever returning to academy grounds.
