(NECN) - The two sides have reached an agreement in the custody battle for Jerry Remy's granddaughter, according to the Red Sox broadcaster's attorney.
Jerry's son, Jared Remy, has been charged with murder in the death of his daughter's mother, Jennifer Martel.
"The parties have reached an amicable agreement, which was satisfactory to everyone," attorney Sandy Durland told NECN in a written statement. "Under the terms of the agreement, the child will spend time with both families. The families ask that the media respect their privacy and that of Arianna."
Members of the Martel family will be the primary guardians for Arianna Remy, according to the family's attorneys.
The 5-year-old has been living with a foster family since the murder.
