New England to see extreme temperatures; they can cause unhealthy air and dangerous conditions

(NECN: Greg Wayland) - When the temperatures climb, the air can become unhealthy to breathe.

Poor air quality is especially dangerous for people with underlying health conditions such as asthma.

With much of New England seeing extreme temperatures in the upper 80s and upper 90s, Mayor Tom Menino explained how the city has prepared and shared advice for beating the heat.
