1 elderly woman was inside at time of fire but was able to get out safely
(NECN: Alysha Palumbo) - A multi-family house erupted into flames in Abington, Mass., on Monday night.
The flames broke out on Progress Street.
NECN’s Alysha Palumbo was at the scene and joined Monday’s broadcast over the phone.
The fire appeared to be under control but still was not out. Abington fire officials, Weymouth fire officials and others were still fighting the flames from inside and outside the home as of 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Neighbors said that the home was a three-family home and there was only one woman inside at the time of the fire, an elderly woman who was able to get out safely.
