News Conference: Massachusetts State Trooper Killed on I-95 in Mansfield

(NECN: Foxboro, Mass.) - Col. Marian McGovern of the Massachusetts State Police force held a news conference this morning to discuss the death of Massachusetts State Trooper Doug Weddleton.

Weddleton was struck and killed by a driver on I-95 in Mansfield early this morning. He was working detail at a road construction site when he pulled over one car. Another car struck Weddleton. Both drivers have been arrested and will face arraignment later today.

Kenneth Weiand, 43, of Walpole will be charged with operating under the influence of alcohol.

Anthony Perry, 45, of Hyde Park, will be charged with negligent motor vehicle homicide -- among other charges.

Weddleton leaves behind his wife, Judith, and four sons.
