He’s expected to formally propose cuts to social security and Medicare next week.
This is expected as part of his annual budget plan.
President Obama is also trying to demonstrate willingness to work with Republicans and revive plans for a long-term deficit reduction deal.
The budget is expected to be released Wednesday and hopes to crack the republican anti-tax resistance.
