(NECN) - Lance Armstrong has confessed to using performance-enhancing drugs.
A source tells the AP that Armstrong came clean during an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Monday.
The cycling legend had long denied doping during his career, but he was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said he did cheat.
His sit-down with Winfrey will air on Thursday.
Before the taping, Armstrong apologized to staff members at his Livestrong foundation, some of whom reportedly broke down in tears.
