Boston firefighter accused in marijuana growing operation

(NECN: Ally Donnelly, Boston, Mass.) – A Boston firefighter and his father are in court, charges with growing marijuana plants in a Maine home. Authorities say a raid turned up close to two dozen plants and about $15,000 in growing equipment. No comment. The only two words Boston firefighter Paul Bradley Jr. would say to the media or in Roxbury district court Tuesday where he stayed hidden behind a courtroom door. The 25-year-old arrested on fugitive of justice charges from Maine after State Police there say Bradley and his father were maintaining a type of marijuana greenhouse in their mobile home in Litchfield, Maine. Maine State Police raided the remote property Friday, but no one was home. Inside a two-story garage they say they found a “marijuana growing operation” with lighting, a watering system and timers, as well as 22 plants and 2 and a half pounds of marijuana in plastic bags. Bradley and his 57-year-old father are both listed as owners of the property. Bradley was pulled over by Massachusetts State Police and arrested near his Fenway apartment Tuesday morning. Bradley’s lawyer, Amanda Sheehan says the firefighter hadn’t been to the Maine home in over a year.
