City Charges Keene Pumpkin Festival With Overtime Costs

The city of Keene, New Hampshire, will charge the organizer of the Keene Pumpkin Festival more than $90,000, according to The Keene Sentinel.

The city of Keene, New Hampshire, will charge the organizer of the Keene Pumpkin Festival more than $90,000, according to The Keene Sentinel.

The money will reportedly cover the overtime pay for police officers, firefighters, and Department of Public Works staff who dealt with the riots that left 30 people injured on the outskirts of the festival.

The Sentinel adds that the total overtime costs for first responders came to $147,662. 

Since the Oct. 18 incident, dozens of people have been arrested in connection with the riotous behavior.
