Disaster drill conducted in Providence, RI
(NECN/WPRI) – Emergency and Homeland Security officials conducted a disaster drill in Providence Saturday. Organizers derailed a train, to create a realistic scenario involving an Amtrak passenger train wreck. The drill involved about 80 first responders. More than 130 volunteers served as injured or dead passengers. Officials say the drill was a chance to sharpen skills that may be needed if there’s a railway emergency.
