Dodd returns home after prostate cancer surgery

(NECN: East Haddam, Conn.) – Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) has left the hospital after undergoing surgery for prostate cancer and has returned to his East Haddam home to recovery with his family. A statement from his office said that the 65-year-old was released from the hospital in New York on Saturday after having surgery on Tuesday. Doctors called the operation a success. The Democrat announced last month that he was diagnosed with an early, treatable stage of cancer. Saturday’s statement said the senator was looking forward to returning to work later this month. Material from The Associated Press used in this report.
