E.coli surfaces in Milford, MA

(NECN: Katie Davis – Milford, MA) – Milford, Massachusetts residents are being told to boil their water, because of E.coli. Town officials say residents should have been told about the contamination sooner. This comes after tests showed the presence of dangerous bacteria. E.coli and Coliform bacteria were found in samples taken last week. The test results came back on Thursday, but residents weren’t warned until Sunday. That has some town leaders upset. But the water company says, chlorine levels were raised immediately to prevent problems. If you live in Milford, you need to boil your water for a full minute before using it or use bottled water instead. Bottled water was being issued at the High School in Milford. NECN reporter Katie Davis is in Milford with the latest.
