Female bank robber hits New England banks

(NECN/WTNH) – A bold bank robber making her way across New England. Authorities are looking for a woman who they say held up five banks in five days in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Police believe 35-year old Heather Brown of Norwich robbed the New Alliance Bank at 950 Silver Lane Friday. She passed the teller a note stating that she had a bomb and walked out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Brown robbed the Webster Bank in West Springfield, Mass. Thursday morning. She passed a note to the teller demanding cash and said she had a gun. The day before, Brown allegedly held up the TD BankNorth in Middletown. Before she fled the bank, she placed a bag on the counter and said it was a bomb. The bomb squad was called to check it out, but it ended up being nothing. Police believe Brown also held up a bank in Montville and Westerly, Rhode Island. WTNH News reporter Bob Wilson on the story.
