Geophysical prospection an archaeological aid

(NECN) – Uncovering hidden secrets from the past with the help of a new high-tech tool was the focus of Thursday’s Sci-Tech segment on NECN’s Morning Report. Dr. Meg Watters, geophysicist for the PBS show Time Team America, of the Museum of Science in Boston shares the details of the techniques she uses, in the video player above. The techniques Dr. Watters employs are geophysical prospection, using different tools such as radar waves, electricity and magnetic waves of the Earth to map what is buried in the ground. In South Dakota, Dr. Watters surveyed the site of Fort James. On this site, there were some walls visible, but found more using the geophysical prospection tools.
