Body Found on Property of Missing Maine Woman

Authorities in Maine have found a body on the property of a Fairfield woman who went missing late August, according to necn affiliate WCSH.

Valerie Tieman, 34, was last seen Aug. 30 at the Wal-Mart in Skowhegan, and was reported missing on Sept. 9.

Tuesday's search started late in the morning on the Norridgewock Road property, where state police and warden investigators were seen in a wooded area with K-9s and buckets and shovels.

By 3 p.m., state police announced they had found a woman's body about 200 yards behind the Tieman house. The identity of the discovered body was not immediately released by authorities.

Earlier this month, police said she was last seen in a pickup truck she shared with her husband, Luc Tieman; when he went inside the store, and when he returned, Valerie Tieman was missing.

Valerie's family and friends, including her husband, are cooperating in the investigation, according to state police.

No one has been charged in her disappearance.
