4 Unaccounted for After Fire in Gardiner, Maine

Four people are unaccounted for after a fire in downtown Gardiner, Maine, on Thursday afternoon, according to WCSH-TV.

Six departments responded to the fire, which damaged several buildings on Main Street in the historic downtown area.

The blaze broke out around 4:30 p.m., starting in a brick building and spreading. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries when a roof collapsed in one of the buildings.

The fire was contained between Farris Law building and Gerard's Pizza. The top three floors of the building are apartments and a city employee said nobody was home at the time.

Fire officials said crews have been unable to check one of the buildings to look for the missing individuals.
