Missing Kayaker From NH Found Dead in Maine

The body of a missing kayaker from New Hampshire was found Saturday in a Maine lake.

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said 39-year-old Timothy Clauge of Nottingham, New Hampshire, launched his kayak after midnight to go fishing on Watchic Lake in Standish. He had arrived Thursday evening for a family celebration. Around 1 p.m., authorities were told Clauge had not returned.

A resident found Clauge's kayak overturned on the lake Friday.

Saturday afternoon, divers found Clauge's body using side scan sonar.

Authorities said Clauge was in 29 feet of water and about a third of a mile from where he was last seen.
