Shark Sighting Off Maine Coast

After dozens of people told necn that Boston has denied their claims that plows for the city damaged their property, Mayor Marty Walsh says the city will look into its process, which does not allow people to appeal claim denials.

A shark was sighted off the Maine coast by a U.S. Coast Guard vessel on Monday.

The Coast Guard stationed in Boothbay was returning from a search and rescue case when they encountered a shark crossing its bow.

The type of the shark was not determined.

Shark sightings are rare in Maine, with one spotted off the coast of Kennebunkport in the summer of 2016. A great white was also tracked by a scientist from the University of New England off of Old Orchard Beach in September 2017, according to News Center Maine.
