Vermont State Police say a 29-year-old woman allegedly killed the man she lived with in Randolph.
Victoria Griffin was arrested Saturday on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of 44-year-old Concepcion Cruz. Police say the two were in a relationship and allege that Griffin fatally stabbed Cruz inside the home they shared on Park Street.
Police said four children related to Cruz and Griffin were in the home when the stabbing took place.
The children -- between the ages of 12 and 16 -- were not injured and are now in the care of relatives, police said.
The stabbing was reported by a passerby who flagged down an Orange County sheriff's deputy around 4:20 p.m. and said someone had been stabbed at a nearby home.
First responders found Cruz inside the home with apparent stab wounds. He was taken by ambulance to Gifford Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy performed Sunday determined the cause of Cruz's death was a stab wound to the upper torso. The manner of his death was ruled a homicide.

Griffin was taken into custody at the scene, and she is scheduled to be arraigned Monday. It's unclear if she has retained an attorney.
Authorities have not revealed a possible motive.
An investigation is ongoing.
