A 2-year-old boy was airlifted after being struck by a car while waiting for a school bus with his siblings in Norfolk, Massachusetts.
A 2-year-old boy was struck by a car Wednesday morning in Norfolk, Massachusetts, according to police.
The incident happened on Strawberry Lane around 8:30 a.m.
The child was found lying on the side of the road and was conscious and alert. Both of his parents were on the scene.
The family just moved to the neighborhood.
"There is nothing more dangerous than a car," family friend John Stellberger said. "He is a cute little kid ... I was stunned."
According to a family friend, the boy was waiting for the school bus with his other siblings. He then darted in the roadway and was hit, according to witnesses.
"Just took off, and [his mother] didn't catch him," said neighbor Janet Mason. "She was an absolute wreck. Absolute wreck. Felt so bad for her."
The boy was airlifted to Tufts Medical Center. His current condition is not known.
The driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old Norfolk woman, remained at the scene. No charges have been filed, but the incident remains under investigation.
