Five people have been arrested in a pair of simultaneous drug raids in Springfield, Massachusetts, that yielded almost 1,300 bags of heroin and a gun previously reported stolen.
Police raided two homes on Thursday and arrested three men and two women on a variety of drug and firearms charges. Two of the suspects were arrested during traffic stops.
The home also contained smaller amounts of cocaine and oxycodone as well as $1,500 in cash.
Police also seized a.38-caliber revolver and a 9mm handgun, one of which had been reported stolen from a home in Windsor, Vermont.
Police say they also found stamps, scales and packaging materials that are commonly used in the processing of drugs for street sales.
