8 Boaters Rescued off Island in Boston Harbor

Backers of a drive to gradually boost the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour told a legislative committee on Tuesday that many people who work full time at their jobs still live in poverty and struggle to support their families.

Eight boaters are safe after they were rescued off Rainsford Island in Boston Harbor.

State police got a distress call about a "white sun bird" vessel taking on water around 2 a.m. Monday.

The boat was able to make it onto Rainsford Island and call for help.

Boston police and Coast Guard crews found the eight occupants and brought them back into the city.

Paramedics responded to make sure the occupants were alright.
