Boston IndyCar Race Refunding Tickets After Event Cancelled

The Boston Grand Prix would have run around the convention center in South Boston

People who bought tickets for the now-cancelled Labor Day IndyCar race planned for Boston's Seaport district will have their money refunded starting Monday.

The Boston Grand Prix would have run around the convention center in South Boston.

Organizers of the race pulled the plug over the weekend, saying they couldn't meet the city's requirements, which included an extra line of credit and environmental approval of the course.

Mayor Marty Walsh signed a tentative agreement with organizers a year ago, around the same time the city passed on the 2024 Olympics.

The race is now expected to be held in a different Northeast city.
