Thomas has been a key player in the push to sign now free-agent Kevin Durant to the Celtics.

On Durant, Thomas said, "if we get him, we're title contenders...we're the best team in the NBA when you add a superstar guy like that."

During the NBA draft last week the Celtics picked up Jaylen Brown, prompting criticism from fans.

Thomas supported the Celtics' pick, calling it a "sneaky pick."

He added, "he's the definition of what Boston is, he's a hard-working guy."
