Drone Spotted Near Logan Airport

A drone was spotted near Logan Airport as a JetBlue flight made its final approach. This marks the second drone incident in a week.

A JetBlue plane saw a drone as it came into Boston's Logan Airport, the airline confirms.

The sighting occurred around 12 p.m. Friday as Flight 490, originating from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, was about one mile from the airport at an altitude of 800 feet.

The plane was not at any risk and landed safely.

It's illegal to fly drones within a 5-mile radius of Logan Airport, the FAA says.

Massachusetts State Police are now investigating.

A week ago, the crew of an Air Canada Express flight reported seeing a drone as its aircraft was landing at Logan Airport.
