High-Rise Office Building Evacuated Due to Fire, Smoke

A 44-story high-rise office building in Boston was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a smoke condition.

Authorities are on the scene of 1 Boston Place.

A fire in some pipe installation generated a lot of smoke of floors five and six, according to Boston Fire.

Boston Fire officials are working with building engineers to clear the smoke using the building's ventilation system, since the windows do not open.

There are no reports of any injuries.

The fire has been extinguished.
