Obama, Sacra Address US Role in Ebola Crisis

Massachusetts missionary and Ebola survivor Dr. Rick Sacra was at the White House Wednesday while the president delivered remarks on the progress of containing the outbreak in Africa.

The president thanked Sacra and others who helped fight the epidemic.

Sacra, from Holden, contracted the disease while volunteering at a hospital in Liberia.

The president says the U.S. is now shifting its focus towards detection and prevention of the disease.

Obama also announced plans to bring home nearly all troops previously deployed to regions of West Africa as part of efforts to contain the epidemic.
