Person Accused of Threatening Brandeis University Students With Weapon

One person was arrested early Wednesday for brandishing what was believed to be a weapon at two Brandeis University students.

The off-campus incident occurred after the students were approached by a passing car.

After verbally interacting with the students, the driver pulled out a weapon. The students were unharmed and notified university police after the encounter.

Waltham police were alerted and made an arrest shortly after, according to the university.

The name of the accused and the type of weapon used in the incident were not immediately disclosed.

Officials reassured students that there was no larger threat to the public.
