Armed Man Taken Into Custody

The suspect reportedly threatened another man on Wednesday morning.

Yarmouth Police and Massachusetts State Police took a man into custody on Tuesday morning after he allegedly threatened another man with a gun following a dispute.

Police located 26-year-old Daniel Scobie around 10:30 a.m.

Scobie allegedly threatened another man who is known to him.

The man traveled to Scobie's residence on 29 Venus Rd. in an attempt to retrieve tools that belonged to his company. Scobie had been working at plumbing company in Osterville, but had since been fired.

During the encounter, Scobie pulled out a handgun, threatened to shoot him and then went back inside his home.

Scobie then left on foot in the general area of Shaw's in South Yarmouth. He was found a short time later in the woods nearby by law enforcement officials.

Scobie is being held at the Yarmouth Police Headquarters. He's been charged with felony assault while armed with a dangerous weapon. He'll be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Tuesday.
