Boy Killed in Car Crash in Methuen, Mass.

The accident happened on Berkeley and East Brook Streets

Flor De Paz, mother of a 6-year-old boy killed in a car accident Tuesday morning in Metheun, Massachusetts, speaks out in an emotional interview.

Police in Methuen, Massachusetts, say a 6-year-old boy was killed in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday morning. 

The accident happened on Berkeley and East Brook Streets just before 7:30 a.m.

Flora De Paz, boy's 34-year-old mother, who was driving a 1998 Honda Civic, was taken to Lawrence General Hospital with not life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the Honda Civil was traveling eastbound on East Brook Place and, when it entered Berkeley Street, a 2005 Ford Econoline hit the car's driver's side. 

According to police, the boy was ejected and hit by the van.

De Paz does not know whether her son was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the van has not been identified.

Neighbors say they're shocked after the deadly crash.

The investigation continues.
