Snowfall Record in Worcester, Massachusetts

More snow fell during this week’s blizzard than ever before in the Heart of the Commonwealth.

New England's second largest city beat its own record this week when the highest snow total in city history fell on Worcester, Massachusetts.

As of Tuesday night, while the temperature approached single digits, more than 33 inches had fallen in the city.

It will take days for the city to clean the snow up. Worcester officials say more than 400 trucks were on the roads Tuesday and they will be back on Wednesday.

"The shoveling keeps you warm," said Michael Kaczynski.

"This is harder work than work," said Mike Novick. "No, it's alright. We've been lucky so far. So, you know, you shovel it and you move on."

Public school has been cancelled for Wednesday.
