Threatening Letter Sent to Gay Massachusetts Mayor

State and local police are trying to find a man who allegedly attacked a woman around 1:15 p.m.

The mayor of Holyoke, Massachusetts, a gay man, received a threatening letter.

Alex Morse dismissed the card at first.

"It's one thing to write a letter and say, 'Hey, Mr. Mayor, I disagree with your decision,'" Morse said. "It's a different thing to attack someone's humanity based on their sexuality.

But then he realized the message had greater implications.

"I started getting angry at the prospect of having an attorney general that didn't think twice about the LGBT community, people of color, the Latino community," he said.
