Arrest Made in Manhunt for Western Massachusetts Murder Suspect

Chicopee, Mass. police said Lewis H. Starkey III was apprehended without incident

A man from Wendell, Massachusetts was arrested for the murder of the woman with whom he lived, as well as an attempted shooting at his workplace in Chicopee, Mass.

A Massachusetts man wanted for the murder of a woman last Wednesday was arrested Sunday.

Chicopee, Mass. police said Lewis H. Starkey III, 53, was apprehended in his hometown of Orange, Mass. without incident around 9:15 a.m.

Starkey is accused of killing 48-year-old Amanda Glover inside the Wendell, Mass. home he shared with her as well as committing an attempted shooting of a coworker in his place of work - Specialized Trucking Company - in Chicopee later the same day.

He was charged with murder, armed assault with intent to murder, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Starkey is currently being housed at Franklin County House of Corrections in Greenfield, Mass. and is expected to be arraigned in the Orange District Court on Monday.
