New Bedford firefighters undergo evaluation after biohazard exposure

(NECN: New Bedford, Mass.) – Five New Bedford, Massachusetts, firefighters are being evaluated after being exposed to a biohazard bag. The five have been taken to St. Luke’s Hospital as a precaution. Fire officials tell “South Coast Today” that the bag had been left in a rescue truck sent to Monday’s hazmat incident at a disposal company. The biohazard bag contained a first aid kit used to treat patients at New Bedford Waste. The chief said it had been “inadvertently left” in the truck instead of sent out for cleaning as is protocol. *This is aerial video from the scene*
