Pregnant teen killed in birthday party shooting

(NECN: John Moroney, Boston, Mass.) – An early morning shooting at a birthday party in Boston’s Hyde Park section left a pregnant 18-year-old dead. Police said the shooting occurred at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, and identified the victim as Paula Castillo of Dorchester. No information on suspects has been released, and police have asked for the public’s help in gathering information on the incident. Witnesses said that the woman was three months pregnant, and was attending a birthday gathering was being held in the pregnant woman’s honor. The expectant mother did not live in the building. Those witnesses said four uninvited guests showed up and, when asked to leave, fired shots on the building from outside, hitting the victim.
