Market Basket will be ending its four percent discount at the end of the year, reports the Union Leader.
The discount remained in effect as store workers and customers staged a successful boycott following Arthur T.Demoulas' ousting as the company’s CEO.
He was reinstated following the protests and his team returned to Market Basket Aug. 28. The discount also remained in effect.
Since his team returned to Market Basket on Aug. 28, three new stores have opened, 1,300 new jobs were created and employee bonuses were paid out.
The purchase of the 50.5 percent of the company they didn't already own was completed as of 1 p.m. on Dec. 12.
Market Basket operates 73 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. Founded in 1917, it is based in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
