Shark expert spots great white off Cape Cod

(NECN: Ally Donnelly, Chatham, Mass.) – Great white sharks have been spotted off Cape Cod. Swimmers are being warned to avoid the area where seals congregate. Locals and tourists swarmed the Cape Cod shore, hoping to spot as many as five large sharks sighted near the Wildlife Refuge of Monomoy Island this week. UPDATE: Great white shark tagged off Chatham [NECN] With police patrols buzzing the water, the town of Chatham warned boaters and swimmers to use an abundance of caution. The State Division of Marine Fisheries confirms at least one of the sharks is a great white. Shark expert Greg Skomal spotted the sharks yesterday, and says he spent some time following their activity today. NECN’s Ally Donnelly reports.
