A New York teen is dead following a boat crash on Crescent Lake in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, over the weekend.

The incident happened shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday. New Hampshire State Police said two personal watercraft, commonly referred to as jet skis, were operating in the northern end of the lake near the channel to Lake Wentworth. Investigators believe the lead vehicle slowed down and the second then collided with it from behind.

Good Samaritans pulled the injured teen from the vehicle, administered CPR and brought him to the boat dock before first responders arrived. The teen was then taken to Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, where he was pronounced dead.

The second operator involved in the crash, who police said was also a teenager, was not hurt.

Authorities have not released the names of the drivers of the two personal watercraft, but say they were both from New York state. Authorities said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, but the incident remains under investigation.
