Weakening Hurricane Bill passes well off New England

(NECN/ABC) – A weakening Hurricane Bill spun northward Saturday night, churning up rough seas, creating dangerous rip tides and closing beaches to swimmers up and down the eastern seaboard, including President Barack Obama’s planned vacation spot, Martha’s Vineyard. The Category One hurricane is passing the mainland well off New England, but still packing high winds and waves that threaten boaters and swimmers. ABC News reporter Chuck Sivertsen has more on the storm.
